Hey Doug, I know you're going to defend Triano's decision to keep Calderone in the game through the fourth quarter - he had a hot hand. But the Raps had no fast break points in the second half, practically no penetration and went cold on the perimeter (30 percent shooting??). So why not bring in Jack to break down Sac's defence and stop their momentum after they took the lead?
I would argue Bargs cost us the game with his weak defence on Cousins late. Surely someone in the organization has instructed Bargs on how to put a body on a guy and box out, no? If Bargs would like to come out to my son's Atom house league I'm sure they can work with him (I don't think he's Rep team material). Once again, Bargs renders an impressive offensive outing meaningless.

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
