Told you something cool was coming: It's contest time

Okay, here we go.

You’ve all got friends, right? Like nine of them?

Well, maybe you’ll all be in some sweet box on Sunday to see the game against the Hawks courtesy of my new friends at Miller Genuine Draft and me.

Yep, contest time.

I know it’s a bit of rush but you and nine of your buddies can take in the game in the newly-designed Best Seats In The House lounge by entering and winning this contest we’ve set up today.

Now, it’s only for folks who read here (there are perks to being Irregulars, aren’t there?) and all you have to do is click right here and you’ll find all the details

Don’t want to click? Want to know if it’s worth it? What do you get?

Well, the 10 tickets for you and your friends, a $40 food and beverage voucher each, a $5 cab voucher to get you home if you’re in the neighbourhood and some lovely hostesses to help you navigate the surroundings.

And, yes, I will stop by at some time, although I’m not sure that’s a big draw.

Anyway, deadline is noon Friday, the fine folks who handle our contests will get in touch with you the winner and you’ll all have a wonderful time.

Oh, because there’s beer and stuff, all the guests have to be 19 or over and, yes, this is open to any of you, even if it’ll mean a rather hurried road trip.

Have fun, folks.

Best. Prize. Ever!

But I think you should have put in some irregular code (instead of the skill testing question) to weed out those that don't spend 4-6 hours of their day reading every word and comment on this blog.

Thanks Doug!

HA! There's a math question. That's funny... for the irregulars!

Blogger's note: Ha! I had nothing to do with it, I assure you; and won't be the guy checking the answer

Thanks Doug,

This is a great contest.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers

The answer to any numbers question is always "Spurs by 12"

What if there are no valid winners, because we all get the skill testing question wrong? does it sit empty? and are we banned from the site, and told to go read the Sun instead?

Awesome contest Doug!

Also, I just found out that I know the coach of your significant other's Catch 22 crew!

"Open to Ontario residents only"

Aaaaarggggghhhhhhh!

Natalie, Montreal. = )

Sweet! Thanks for the chance to win Doug!

Just reading the blog from the other day and bad to rant a bit. The poster SA I know is not the only one to make ignorant statements but he did say a couple of things I don't agree with.

First to say that MSLE is not trying to put a winning product on the court because they are more interested in making money is assinine. First they will not spend for the sake of spending unless it makes sense. New York had the highest payroll for several years and were no close to contending or even made the playoffs. They are developing what they have now. No GM is perfect. If they become a good team that starts to contend they will make more money ie. more sellouts, concession sales, playoff revenue, more merchandise sales, etc. And that would make more than for the extra
money they would spend on the roster. But you
have to be in the right position to adding
salary.

Secondly the point about NO having all these
raptors and winning. Lol. So Belnelli is doing
well. Well for one perhaps he finally realized
after getting traded again that he needs to pick
it up and play harder. Perhaps he fits better in
NO system. Do you think after last season the way he played he would win time over Derozen or Weems or is he that much better than Barbosa or Kleiza.

I will make an intelligent (tongue in cheek) argument. Let's see. Jack gets traded to the team with the best record and they lose the
very next game to the team with the worst record. The raptors first game after the trade they beat one of the top teams with Jose starting. Conclusion; New Orleans will be a bad team from hereonin and Jack sucks. Raptors will turn the corner and contend and Jose is a top 3 PG in the league.

Great idea... Yours or MGD's? If it's MGD's it just goes to show how influential your blog has become.

PS the math question was far too difficult I almost forfeitted my chances by getting it wrong.

Blogger's note: I was asked to take part.

What if your are an irregular from Chicago?

DAMN!!! I live in Ottawa and am coming to T.O. on the weekend and do in fact plan on taking in the game, BUT...I'm going with my 17-year-old son, so he's under age for purposes of the contest. He has fake I.D., though, so can you put in a good word for us, Doug? Speaking of which, do you accept bribes, and if so, is there a minimum amount?

Blogger's note: If you win, we'll talk. :)

Doug!
Thanks for a contest just for Irregulars. That's so nice! But Math!!!! Really???? Because it's named after you, I was hoping any skill-testing question would be something, you know, appropriate to your demographic. Beer, Rock 'n Roll, History of the ABA, even Obscure Seinfeld Trivia (but, on second thought would there be any detail too obscure for an Irregular???) But you have to be in it to win it, so here goes...!

LeeZ - Isn't the solution simple "okay son, you wait outside right here in front of the ACC and Daddy will be right back in a couple hours. Along as there is no overtime. I'll try to buy you a chocolote bar or something".

appreciate the contest being open now to all Ontario residents not just those in the 905 area code -- much appreciated
you mean "Spurs by 12" isn't the correct answer?

Awwwsome! Great sponnsahs, The Stah and Milla! Coach Jack would be pleased. Will he be joining you for a cameo in the box at halftime, Doug?
Well done. Really nice promo.

Sweet! $40 vouchers, this will get us at least a beer and a half!

contests are all good...the skill testing question should have been a word problem....such as ...if player A scores 26 points, in a full game......minus the 8 points he committed on four tournovers in the game but adding on the 6 assists which lead to 12 points for the team.. what was his net total?...that'd weed out the non-b-ball types..

I love a contest just for Irregulars. Thanks, Doug. I'd be neat if the winner could post a few comments on the blog from the suite on Sunday.

Hey doug! I knew reading your blog would pay off haha
Do you know around what time the winner will be chosen?
And as a plus, does the winner get 15 minutes of fame a la being mentioned on your blog :)
(yes I'm dreaming big)

Blogger's note: Sometime early Friday afternoon, I believe.

Forest from MGD here - it was our idea, but I'm also very much one of the irregulars.

It's amazing to get to mesh business with this, and I'm looking forward to meeting the winner on Sunday,

Cheers

Thanks Doug. Can you also arrange a plane ticket for me and my friends if I win?
