I don't think I'll be paying for Sportsnet if you keep up such a good scribe.

Funny stat for those +/- lovers.

Bargnani, with 8 points and 5 rebounds on 1 for 13 shooting, goes +15 for the game, best mark in the game.

+/- doesn't tell you if someone had a good or bad game when all your other senses tell you otherwise; it just tells you *something* -- and that's that the player wasn't a complete sieve while he was on the court. So while Bargnani clearly struggled, it wasn't as if the Pacers were scoring at will when he was on the court. In fact, the opposite appears to be true.

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
