Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
How nasty is that loss going to taste? And for how long?
12 turnovers in the 2nd half... to snatch defeat from the jaws of a W that was so there it shouldn't have even been close. Ouch. Cheers. Go Raps! Best game of the year to take something home from the video – and put it to use!

When you look up the definition of choke in the dictionary, I am pretty sure its a picture of the Raptors logo.
Any team that plays Toronto knows stone cold for a fact that if they are within 6 in the last minute of a game, they are still likely to come back and win.
Could Jose give Lin any more room on the last shot? Six feet off his man, lets him shoot a wide open, uncontested 3 to win. Jose is looking DIRECTLY at a game clock at the other end of court. What does he think Lin is going to do when it hit two seconds??? Pass? Drive? He should have run up to Lin and got straight in his grill.........James Johnson decides that defending Kobe on the the last play of a game isn't necessary ! Just lets him get the inbounds, waltz to the corner and shoot a winner !!! If Casey is such a defensive genius, why can't he draw up any defense for the last 60 seconds of a game that actually works?
Bravo Mr.Lin, bravo. This kid is a baller, flat out. Toronto dreams of having someone on the roster with half the heart and drive this kid has. That was the loudest I have heard the ACC in YEARS, and the cheers were not for Toronto !!!
Linsanity is here to stay. Get used to it. That shot was seen by 10's of millions around the world. It will be a Youtube legend within 24 hours. By the time they hit NY, there will be no tickets left to home games at MSG for the rest of the season. This kid is golden, just golden and the best story in the League in the last 20 years, easily. I am glad I watched that game, it will be talked about for YEARS, and its a meaningless mid season game against a perenial bottom feeding club, and not even a home game for the Knicks.
Welcome the new face of the NBA, and he's Asian. Bet Floyd Mayweather Jr. is just dying right now. Good.
