Hey Doug, am I the only one who noticed that the game clock was running after a bucket was made by Parsons at the 2:58 mark in the fourth quater. The clock official ran 10 seconds off of the clock but the 24 second clock was still at 24! Not one of the Raptors coach noticed it nor did the three game officials! At that time it was only a 4 point game. Just another Raptor on Americian soil!!!

Blogger's note: Clock only stops on made baskets in the final two minutes of a quarter; nothing to see here, move along :)

24-second clock only starts running once a team gains possession on the inbounds, but the game clock keeps on ticking except, as Doug noted, in the final two minutes of the quarter. I loves me a good conspiracy theory, too, but not crazy ones!

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
