Did you ask Garbo about his 3on3 game this week?

Blogger's note: Grrr. Forgot

I said I would eat my words if I was wrong. I still thought the U.S. would win by at least double digits, and that it wouldn't even be in doubt by the time the 4th quarter would start. You were far more right than I was. I missed the game, but when I saw the score, all I could think was, Doug was right again.

Thanks for an AWESOME Olympics, and by that, I'm talking about your work, and also the work of your colleagues. I know I can't speak for another, but I'm sure that Mr. Starkman is up there, proud of you guys. You could see the difference in the Star's coverage, when you read about athletes in various news outlets. The Star did a fantastic job. Thanks to you, and to your colleagues in each department. The writing and pictures were top notch.

Oh... one more thing. You mentioned the King of Spain. Not sure if you know this but there's a Canadian musical connection that you could throw in a blog. Not really your type of music, but catchy as heck! This group was a minor success in the 90's. When you get the chance you should check this out when you can listen to the lyrics.

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
