This team is like stale bread. It needs to be stuffed into a fowl carcass and seriously cooked. It's certainly NOT a playoff team – this year, next year, last year. BCo has some major shopping to do; maybe he should start at Square One. Cheers. Go Jays!

But stale bread doesn't have to be stuffed and hidden away - with the addition of a couple of key ingredients -like cream and brandy!- it can be transformed into a divine bread pudding! And BCo doesn't necessarily have to go to Square One to find 'em. Might be right around the corner. Like in Detroit. Oh, Jose?!

Oh yeah, I do love stuffing, so I do appreciate the value of stale bread. Man, I'd LOVE to try a recipe that includes cream and brandy! But you know what my favourite part is? Onions, baby, onions! And then add gravy?! Whoa, now you're cooking'! Cheers! Go BCo! (He'd look pretty cool in a chef's hat, no?)

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
