The Lord Chamberlain awaits your RSVP

Did you get your invite to the wedding? Well, you’re not alone.

This much we know according to the official statement from the Prince of Wales:

Royal invitation - Around 1,900 people have been invited to the service at Westminster Abbey.

- Around 600 people have been invited to the lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace given by The Queen.

- Around 300 people have been invited to the dinner at Buckingham Palace given by The Prince of Wales.

Family and friends of William and Kate account for more than half the list. You can include the Beckhams (David and Victoria) among those and, according to various reports, names like Kanye West and Elton John. Kate’s former boyfriend, Rupert Finch, and William’s squeeze for a while in Kenya, Jecca Craig, will also get to raise a glass at the banquet.

The Mail says there are about 40 heads of state invited (Canada included), but not the Obamas. The excuse is that security for the U.S. president and First Lady would likely get the way of a smooth operation and, anyway, they are likely to have their own audience when they go on an official UK tour in May. Maybe they`ll save them a piece of wedding cake.

Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew`s ex, won`t be there either. Her people say she couldn`t go anyway because of previous engagement. Sure, we buy that.

The Queen is our head of state - good thing she's invited! Did you mean the PM?
