Lego builders raise the roof

Four ambitious Lego makers have thrown down the gauntlet to Lego builders everywhere with their model of the Royal Wedding ceremony in Westminster Abbey, using 180,000 pieces they had lying around.

The model Abbey is 2.5-metres high and has more than 400 Lego figurines, including William and Kate, of course.

We reported a while back on a Legoland Windsor model of the wedding, which used a paultry 160,000 pieces. The Abbey is a whole other beast.

If you’d like to see the LEGO Westminster in person, it is on display at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Manchester, England. And if you ever decide to have a LEGO wedding yourself, then it becomes almost mandatory that you tie the knot by exchanging LEGO wedding rings.

We'll keep that in mind.
