Royal gossip a fertile ground
No one can accuse "In Touch" magazine with actually living up to its name.
Still, the gossip rag knows how to grab a headline or two. The latest is that less than a month into their marriage, there is already "heartbreak" that must be endured by Prince William and his bride Kate. Apparently, according to whispers gathered from friends of William's stepmom Camilla, the new Duchess of Cambridge might have fertility problems, which means no chance at an heir to the throne.
No reason why there might be problems. No sources verifying information. But what the heck ... stories like this sell magazines and with the royals trying to keep some semblance of privacy, the rumour mill works overtime.
You'll recall that before the wedding, an "In Touch" rival, "Star", revealed that Kat was actually pregnant and the couple would be announcing the impending birth after they return from their honeymoon.
Obviously, a different set of "sources" were at work.
Much like a train wreck, people can't seem to keep avert their from Princess Beatrice's royal wedding hat. Or their wallets. The eBay auction of the hat to raise money for charity ends Sunday and the bidding is up to $32,200 (Canadian) as of 11:30 a.m. (ET).
