Sneak peek at Vanity Fair royal issue
The smiling pre-wedding faces of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be staring out from the Vanity Fair cover on newsstands this week.
The inside of the magazine's July issue features other photographs of Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Diana, Princess of Wales, all done by by Peruvian photographer. It's the the first time William has been on the Vanity Fair cover. Witness the cover from September 2003 (right).
The Daily Mail reports that the Vanity Fair article will cover everything from who does the chores around their home in Wales to requests for Philadelphia cream cheese and Brussel sprouts in their honeymoon suite.
It will also tell the story of Kate's father, Michael, realizing the pair were in a serious relationship when Prince William arrived at the Middleton home in Bucklebury by helicopter.
A palace aide told Vanity Fair that on the wedding day, the couple watched the wedding on video as they lounged in terrycloth robes between engagements. "It was just the two of them, and they were so excited to actually see it on the television," the aide told the article's author, Katie Nicholl. "Harry joined them afterwards, and they were all in high spirits."
Speaking about the engagement photo session, Testino said the couple had exuded "sheer happiness."
"They are a young couple in love."
Testino, who has also been pegged to be the wedding photographer for supermodel Kate Moss next month, has a history with the royals, having photographed Princess Diana.
He figures he knows why he was chosen for the royal couple's engagement photos: "I guess it was a way for them to keep William’s mother in the whole process of it."
