'Sold-out' Kate dresses land on eBay
Just when you thought every Reiss Shola dress in the world had been snapped up, along comes the stampede to eBay in search of dresses and profit.
The dress became almost instantly scarce after Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (otherwise known as Kate), wore it during a brief get-together with President Barack Obama on First Lady Michelle Obama earlier in the week. Kate's dress, which cost about $275, quickly became the hot item at Reiss stores and online, where the explosion in traffic caused the site to crash several times over the following 24 hours.
'Sold-out' signs began appearing everytwhere, except on e-Bay, where there are now several auctions going on involving the dress.
Naturally, the price has gone up somewhat. One entrepreneur is dangling the dress in front of bidders for $720. Others prices are in the $450 range.
Yes, the Middleton magic continues, at least for quick-thinking quick-buck artists.
