Hey, Prince William ... forget something?

It’s nice to know that Prince William can be as dumb as the rest of us.

In a BBC interview aired Sunday, royal photographer Arthur Edwards related a story from the royal wedding day that puts an all-too-human face on the second in line to the British throne.

After all the pomp and pageantry of the various processions, the balcony kisses and official photos, the final image of Kate and William beamed around the world was of the couple driving out of Buckingham Palace in Prince Charles’ prized 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante MkII.

As they wheeled out the courtyard in front of well-wishers, the slight noises of protest from the vehicle were hardly noticed amidst the joy of the moment.

Later, Edwards had a chance to talk to Charles about the royal wedding exit.

"I was talking to Prince Charles about that [the car] and I said 'Did you mind him borrowing that car?' because he loves that car -- it's his birthday present from his mother for his 21st -- and he said 'No, he asked me if he could use it.'

"I said 'There seemed to be a problem driving it' and he said, 'Yes, because he didn't take the hand brake off.’”

We will assume William doesn't make the same mistake when he's flying helicopters.
