After seven weeks of helicopter training in the desert, a little R&R is in order for Prince Harry.
So why not a few thrill rides at Universal Studios? And a luxury hotel in Beverly Hills? Maybe even have a few friends drop by … say, David Beckham.
Becks, fresh off his L.A. Galaxy’s triumph in the Major League Soccer championship game, was seen popping in for a visit on Thursday. The soccer superstar is a good friend of both Harry and Prince William.
The SLS is a far cry from the Spartan surroundings of the Gila Bend Air Force base in Arizona, where Harry has been part of some intense training on the Apache attack helicopter.
Not that the Prince isn’t having fun. He has been spotted at several swanky bars during his time in the U.S. southwest, had some flings with a few blondes, dropped about $300 at the tables in Las Vegas, saw Cirque du Soleil’s “O at the Bellagio”, and even took to the open roads around the air base on a Harley.
US Weekly reports Harry was given the "VIP experience" at Universal Studios on Wednesday, complete with a private tour and rides on things like Jaws Lake, The Simpsons and Revenge of the Mummy (right).
With the end of his two months of elite pilot training in sight, Harry can’t very well leave the area without a stop in Hollywood, and the SLS Hotel is as good a place as any to celebrate Thanksgiving. Suites run from $700 a night at the low end.
What lies ahead for Harry? Well, there's a likely deployment to Afghanistan sometime in 2012. And then there's always the speculation about his love life. Some are suggesting he and Pippa Middleton might yet become more than friends. She may be more than even Harry could ever handle.
