Prince Harry has eyes for pop princess
Another day, another blonde.
Prince Harry’s love life, always the subject of speculation and fascination, has taken a pop twist this week with reports that he has become “smitten” with Mollie King.
She’s not quite the household word on this side of the ocean, but the 24-year-old singer has a huge following in the UK with the girl group The Saturdays (right). The fivesome’s have had numerous British Top 10 hits in the last four years and have spun off their popularity into TV shows and merchandise.
Somewhere in that busy schedule, the 24-year-old King, who was born in London, has managed to hook up with Prince Harry on several occasions, mostly in bars. A source tells the Daily Express that it’s a “full-blown romance,” though they are not broadcasting it.
“It’s very early days for them but they’re head over heels,” the source said. They met at a polo club in Surrey in 2010 and the last sighting of the couple was last week in the Bunga Bunga club in London.
This latest chatter comes just as the talk of a Prince Harry-Chelsy Davy reconciliation was heating up. King, meanwhile, split with male model David Gandy a few months ago.
There’s at least one royal connection already for King -- her fellow Saturday mate Una Healy is friends with Harry’s cousin, Zara Phillips.
So, is this The One for the 27-year-old prince? Well, she fits the blonde criteria. Davy is also a blonde, as is short-lived romance mate Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
But, as Harry noted in an interview last month, searching for a life mate is not an easy task. “I’m not so much searching for someone to fulfil the role, but finding someone willing to take it on.”
LADY LOUISE BREAKS ARM
There's been a run of accident-prone young royals lately.
This time, it's Lady Louise Windsor, daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. The 8-year-old granddaughter of the Queen (the pair are pictured last year) broke her arm Wednesday when she fell off her pony while riding at Windsor Castle.
Earlier this week, the grandson of King Juan Carlos accidentally shot himself in the foot while in the company of his father.
Lady Louise was wearing a hard hat and a safety back brace when she took her fall. She went to hospital where she had her left arm put in a cast, and is back at her parents' home near Windsor.
"The Countess of Wessex was supposed to go to Manchester today with the Earl, but understandably stayed with her daughter," said a Palace spokesperson.
Lady Louise was one of the bridesmaids at Kate and William's wedding last year. She last made a public appearance at the Easter service at St. George's Chapel with the Queen and other senior royals.
