D'oh! Now that's a homer

Thanks to Boston Bruins announcer Jack Edwards, the bar for being called a homer has been set to a new height. Instead of treating Milan Lucic's hit during Sunday's Boston-Philadelphia game the way a normal announcer would -- say, with some objectivity -- Edwards did everything but break out the pom-poms and start doing flips.

Chris,

I'm so glad to see that you picked up on this. Mr. Edwards to about the worst play by play man out there. He's a disgrace to his profession. If think that if the NHL wants to sell the game it needs to look into the TV/Radio side of things and hold the announcers and commentators to a higher standard than what is currently out there. The Jim Hughson's and Doc Emmerick's of the hockey world that can make a hockey game come alive. But people like Jack Edwards and Chico Resch just make the 3 hrs feel like torture.

Lucic hits Jones from behind so close to the boards, and this mindless moron is loving it? God forbid what this sad pathetic idiot would do if Jones had to be carried off on a stretcher. This loser needs to have his job terminated.

Jones was the guy who nearly ended Bergeron's career
It wasn't rooting a garden variety hit during a game - Edwards was laughing at the fact the Philly fans wanted a penalty.
A homer, yes, but you need to provide context to set up the clip, and you didn't

If you watch any hockey at all, you will know that Lucic hit Randy Jones - the same Randy Jones who hit Bergeron from behind giving him a concussion and knocking him out for almost an entire season. If it was anyone but Randy Jones, I'm sure Edwards would not have had such a reaction.

"The Jim Hughson's and Doc Emmerick's of the hockey world that can make a hockey game come alive"

You've got to be kidding me. Hughson is horrible.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Jones was wrong to hit Bergeron the way he did, and Lucic was wrong to hit Jones from behind. And Edwards is still a mindless moron for making that call. The NHL is in badly need of an enema.

You're telling me that's the craziest??? What about Randy Moller for the Florida Panthers?
