16 years later, you can finally let Kerry Fraser know how you feel

Maybe Kerry Fraser is a sucker for punishment. Or maybe he figures that after 16 years, Toronto Maple Leafs fans have calmed down enough that he can talk with them.

Whatever the reason, the  NHL referee will be on 640 Toronto's Leafs Lunch Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Most of his time will be spent fielding calls from Leafs fans.

It's possible some of them might bring up that infamous non-call on Wayne Gretzky that may or may not have cost the Leafs a trip to the 1993 Stanley Cup. (It's the Leafs we're talking about, right?) Or maybe they just want to ask him about his hair.

Fraser has gotten a raw deal for that supposed non-call. That game has been replayed on ESPN Classic Canada, and even the biggest Leaf fans of all time--Bob Cole and Harry Neale--were oblivious to the play. They didn't see it either, even though they made their careers based on showing bias towards the Leafs. Watching the Leafs lose Game 6 in OT and then falling hard in Game 7 are memories I'll never forget!

As per tradition, Fraser will miss all the calls and then lie about somebody screening them.

Anyone who thinks Kerry Fraser missed that call on purpose is a deluded Leafs fan who has no life. And besides, the Leafs still could have won that series on the final seventh game on home ice. They have no one to blame for losing but themseves. Deal with it.
