Afternoon delights

DAMIAN DOVORGANES/AP PHOTO
Britney Spears is seen here in a car. But squint a bit and imagine the roar of a jet engine and you'll know what she looks like as she flies off to vacation with Mel Gibson.

Britney and Mel Gibson go on vacation together No really, it's true. She's visiting him in Costa Rica with her dad. Try to imagine what they talk about. I simply can't. I mean how do you get torture porn, racial slurs, sugar boobs, declining careers, Jesus, delicious, delicious alcohol and the fact that Kevin Federline is really mean all into one conversation? The Insider

There will be singing and dancing Variety says Daniel Day-Lewis is talking to Rob Marshall about starring in the movie version of the musical Nine. Nine was inspired by Fellini's 8 1/2. Variety. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise wants to play the president in Phillip Noyce's 28th Amendment, Moviehole; and Nia Vardalos reteams with that guy, John Corbett, who always plays a door mat, for a romantic comedy, the name of which I'm not even going to burden you with.

I voted for "He'sNeverGoingToMarryYou-fer" Over at Us Magazine they have a poll going on which you can vote for a coupley nickname for Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer. After more than 35,000 votes "Johnifer" is leading. Inane poll.

Denise Richards has never done anything wrong The sometimes-actress who has a new reality show starting soon, had a lovely talk with Ryan Seacrest this morning and again said that she didn't break up Richie Sambora's marriage and didn't hurt Heather Locklear. She also didn't cause global warming or do anything worth watching since Starship Troopers, but she didn't mention that. Shut up. Starship Troopers is fun. Ish. People.

Some dude claims he's seen M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening Do you want to know more?  Click here and be spoiled.

I'd love to see a Celebrity Survivor with Denise Richards - she looked like she was having so much fun on Starship Troopers, vein standing out on her forehead and all, I wonder how she'd do against others? And would they let her bring make-up?
