A great opportunity

HANDOUT PHOTO
Hugh Dillon, in Flash Point, has absolutely nothing to do with my new career importing bullet-proof vests, but he looks really hot.
Every once in a while we all consider a career change and I was thrilled to find an email in my inbox this morning offering a wonderful opportunity, should I at some point decide to get into arms dealing. It's from someone who signs himself "Daniel (Mr.)" and he starts his email thusly:

"Dear Sir, I am pleasure to know you from Internet. Thanks for taking the time to read my email and wish you have a nice day ! We are a professional large-sized high technology enterprise from China , Which engaging in research, manufacture and exporting of security guard products including bulletproof car, bulletproof vest, bulletproof helmet, bulletproof shield and anti-riot products." See, I am already intrigued. Daniel (Mr.) then goes on to inform me that, "Our factory covers an area of one thousand square meters. It has about seven hunderd staff and workers, including more than 180 professionals staff engaging in the research of ballistic mechanics, arms and safety-products fields etc " I'm sold. One thousand square meters is very, very impressive. I'm going to reply to Daniel (Mr.) right now and I'm particularly confident that everything will work out great, because business people - like my new friend, Daniel (Mr.) - who use hotmail accounts are the most trustworthy.

Welcome to the club! I just sent Daniel (Mr), my new buddy, a certified cheque for $86,ooo. I can't wait until the arms deal with the secret buyer goes through. I expect in 4 weeks I will have my promised share of six million dollars in the off shore account I'm setting up. (Ha! Take that Revenue Canada). I will finally be able to take my rightful place at the top of society. I will see you at the swanky affairs, Ms. Marpe. I emailed Daniel (Mr) to tell him you are a stand up person and that I am anxiously awaiting his return cheque, but I guess his email server was down that day and the message was bounced back... oh well, I'll try again soon. Life is good.

I would not say it as a prospective opportunity. It involves a lot of risks as well. You should consider everything in detail before going for arms dealing.

Stargazing blog by Malene Arpe

  • Malene’s interests and hobbies include Schadenfreude, sci-fi and fantasy (good and bad alike), hilarious hair pieces, age-inappropriate celebrity crushes, messed-up starlets, waiting for the next Star Trek movie, hating Björk, creative profanity, disobedient robots, fake celebrity relationships, post-apocalyptic dread, singing super-villains, baseball, David Beckham (but only when he keeps his mouth shut), vampires and knitting tiny sweaters for her seven cats. That’s not true. Maybe.
