Happy-making news of the day

From Radaronline: Imagine Entertainment spokesperson, Michael Rosenberg, has confirmed to RadarOnline.com that Michael Cera is officially joining the cast of "Arrested Development" for the big screen version of the cult TV series. The "Superbad" star is joining other series regulars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale and David Cross, who are all reprising their roles for the film.

 

Do you hear what I don't hear?

Someone who clearly doesn't like me, sent me a link to something called the Teenager Audio Test. It's features an annoying tone that only those under 25 are supposed to be able to hear and apparently that tone is used to keep young riff-raff out of grocery stores or something like that. Taking the test is a lose/lose situation. If you can't hear it, it's because you're older than bleep and if you can hear it, well, then you get to listen to an annoying headache-inducing tone. Go ahead. Check it out for yourself. Share the pain.

Afternoon delights

I appologize for somewhat erratic/sporadic posting today. My actual job is getting in the way. It happens once in a while. And I'm sorry  that it's making Celine Dion cry.

Tommy Cruise is going to be so jealous People reports that David Beckham has moved into George Clooney's Lake Como villa while he's playing for AC Milan. Oh, it's not as interesting as I thought. He's just renting it while Clooney is away. Moving on.

Paula says she didn't say what someone thought she said Yesterday OK! reported that Paula Abdul (who is disappointingly coherent this season) had dissed her new Idol co-judge Kara and said she didn't like a four-judge format. But, no, no, Us reports, that was out of context. "I was actually referring specifically to the use of 'guest judges' in seasons past, not Kara [DioGuardi] or this season," she said. "I am thrilled to have her by my side each week on American Idol."

Gwyneth keeps getting upset her blog is criticized She tells People that, "I think the people who are criticizing it or criticizing the idea of it, don't really get it, because if they did, they would like it." Oh course. Just like me. I love Goop.com because I totally get it. I get that I can never have that kind of life because I don't have servants. And money. And excessive amount of time to spend examining my own fascinating emotional health.

Found this on ontd.com. I thought I'd share. BTW, Rotten Tomatoes has a collection of Watchmen reviews and, so far, it's scoring 92 per cent fresh. Words thrown around include "mesmerizing," "searing," "brutalizing" and "conveying the culture of fear and paranoia." Which makes it exactly like the TTC at rush hour. Awesome.

 

Bring on the Fury

It was just a few weeks ago that Samuel L. Jackson expressed doubt he would return as Nick Fury in Iron Man 2. And now he has a nine-movie deal with Marvel. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jackson, who, "was seemingly on the outs with the studio over reprising his role as Nick Fury, agent of spy outfit S.H.I.E.L.D., has signed an unprecedented nine-picture deal to play the character in a series of Marvel movies. The movies include "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "Captain America," "The Avengers" and its sequels. Also on the table is the possibility of toplining a "S.H.I.E.L.D." movie, which is in development." So, either he was full of bleep or he called Marvel's bluff or it was all just a ruse to excite fans. 

Marvel's "Ultimate" Nick Fury is, of course, based on Jackson. So, as opposed to Terrence Howard, who doesn't get to play War Machine, he did have a bit of an advantage.

I missed the last minute or so of Lost last night. I'm sure all kinds of exciting things happened. But I didn't see it and, thus, had to go to bed angry.)

Female passenger in Morgan Freeman's crash car sues TMZ reports that, "The woman who was injured in a car crash with Morgan Freeman last year claims the actor was boozing all over town before he got behind the wheel ... Demaris Meyer claims at around 11:30 PM, while Freeman drove her to his home, Morgan lost control of the car and "ran off of the right side of the highway." Meyer says she suffered a broken left wrist and right scapula, a torn labrum in her right shoulder and numerous bruises and lacerations." She also says that, despite rumours to the contrary, she was not having an affair with Freeman.
