Malene’s interests and hobbies include Schadenfreude, sci-fi and fantasy (good and bad alike), hilarious hair pieces, age-inappropriate celebrity crushes, messed-up starlets, waiting for the next Star Trek movie, hating Björk, creative profanity, disobedient robots, fake celebrity relationships, post-apocalyptic dread, singing super-villains, baseball, David Beckham (but only when he keeps his mouth shut), vampires and knitting tiny sweaters for her seven cats. That’s not true. Maybe.

Grow up you arrogant, ignorant jerk. Kudos to the interviewer for maintaining his diplomacy while interviewing four of the most boring people I have ever listened to. BillyBob...You are just rude and full of yourself. You aren't special. You'd do well to remember that. I think the only reason you are famous is because of your association with Angelina Jolie, not your lacklustre forgettable movies. To the rest of the Boxmasters...Find some other drummer or whatever...to play with. This guy just makes people angry and not want to listen to you. I certainly won't anymore.

Well, Billy Bob just ensured that I'll never buy any music that he records. What a complete jerk.

Jian Ghomeshi, thanks for your steady hand trying to get an interview with Mr. Thornton. Your questions were balanced & interesting to me. Mr. Thornton, next time stay home with your bad manners.

Wow, bravo to the DJ for pushing through with such a frustrating interview. I think Mr. Thorton woke up on the wrong side of the bed...How arrogant of him to assume that the public will simply forget his past career because he says that we should. What planet is Thorton living on? He is beyond extra-annoying...

Billy Bob Thornton is a goof, who the hell does he think he is? The interviewer was just doing his job and Billy Bob Thornton goof sulked and acted like a 2 year old.

It's a lame act to try and create controversy. See Jaoquin Pheonix for instruction Billy Nob.

so...would good old billy bob prefer someone to launch beer bottles at him during a gig, then? what an arrogant fool!
Kudos to Mr. Ghomeshi for being such a professional.

No wonder Angelina dumped his butt.
Used to like him as actor, but now.....can't stand him period.
Boxmasters: GET ANOTHER DRUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might be that Belly Boob Thorton interprets Canadian audiences as being "reserved" when in fact they are possibly simply disinterested. God only knows what his references to singer, songwriter, guitarist Richard Petty has to do with Thorton's supposed skills on percussion.

I listen to Q regularly on CBC FM - and really enjoy the show. Jian is a great host and interviewer. Today, however, was unbelievable. Billy Bob Thornton has no talent as an actor or a musician and now we all now for sure that he doesn't have a personality either. How immature and pathetic!

Only one question was missed...
Billy Bob, are you under psychiatric care? If not, why not?
Posted by: scc | April 08, 2009 at 08:31 PM
His band mates look like they're about to crawl out of their skins. Truly embarrassing. And likening himself to Tom Petty? Nice try. Go back home sucky-baby. C'mon back when you're done with the tantrums.
Posted by: Chris | April 08, 2009 at 08:32 PM
His band members seemed to be embarrassed by Thornton's behaviour. Maybe Thornton should go on Letterman and replace Juaquin Phoenix as worst guest. Was he on drugs? Man - how rude can one person be?

Wow. Kudos to Jian though. Putting up with a three year old having a temper tantrum that early in the morning cannot have been easy, but he didn't even flinch. And Billy Bob, quite frankly, no one should put your name in the same sentence as Tom Petty. I agree with the above comment, guys, find a new drummer. This guy is not worth his brand name.

They whole band looked nervous to me. I'd guess Billy Bob was whacked out on something. That behavior is just not normal.

Jian, you rock! I'm sorry that you'll never get those 14 minutes of your life back! I feel sorry for the rest of the band!!!
Posted by: ltd | April 08, 2009 at 08:47 PM
That's unfortunate. It's really quite amazing that there are people out there that think a little money and a little fame are excuses for being rude, impolite, and generally acting like an a**. The interview seemed to go well in spite of Bob's childish behaviour ... apparently he wasn't needed there anyway.

Yup, he is a first class jerk! He aint no actor either; what I thought was a character, was just him being himself.
Posted by: John Lenin | April 08, 2009 at 09:00 PM
I wouldn't cross the street to watch Billy Bob Thornton perform anything, whether it's music or acting. His behaviour was disgraceful and disrespectful, not only to his band and the host of the show but to his host country. Unbelievable.
Posted by: Tamara | April 08, 2009 at 09:02 PM
WOW! What a goof...
Posted by: Brian Elder | April 08, 2009 at 09:14 PM
Wow. Ungrateful.
How many bands would love the exposure of being on the radio, but never get the chance? His band is getting airplay because he's famous from acting.
Massey Hall, for a band that's 2 years old? That's doing nothing original? and he's whining in radio interviews?
Go back to acting, dude. The film industry tolerates this kind of behavior much better than the music industry.
