I had a nice, long weekend, mostly filled with excitement such as vacuumning cat hair and supervising the sweetie while he put up the Christmas lights. Went to dinner with a friend (Hi Erin) and to the One Of A Kind Show with another friend (Hi Elizabeth!) where I bought a couple of very nice things that I didn't need at all and probably will never use. And I saw The Fantastic Mr. Fox, which was just lovely and happy-making. And also, if a bomb had gone off in the theatre, the hipster population of Toronto would have been decimated by five per cent right there. I've seldom seen so many women doing the ironically-worn-ugly-dress-thing and so many skinny, bearded guys wearing the corduroy blazer/woolen scarf combo in one place. They all had the exact same facial expressing as Booty Buddy Blanket girl. Here's some news:

Tiger Woods did something or his wife did something and a tree got in the way You know all about this already, but here's bit of an update from TMZ: "Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.
We're told authorities believe they can show probable cause a crime was committed, a necessary step in obtaining a warrant. One big piece of evidence showing probable cause ... sources tell us Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers she went looking for Tiger in a golf cart, came upon the accident and then used a golf club to break the window to gain entry. That's a very different story from what she first told Windemere cops shortly after the accident -- she never mentioned a golf cart."

New Moon drops off dramatically...  But even with a 70 per cent loss compared to last week, holds on to first place at the box office with $42.5 million. In second place, Sandra Bullock's The Blind Side made $40 million. 2012 made $18 million for third place. New release Old Dogs managed to get to fourth place with $16.8 million despite some of the most vitriolic reviews of the year.

Fun weekend for the Hasselhoffs While David Hasselhoff was placed under a psych hold after suffering reported alchohol-induced seizures, according to TMZ, "his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, had her own issues with alcohol last night -- we've learned she was arrested for DUI ... and she will probably do jail time. According to law enforcement sources, Bach took a breathalyzer test and blew a .14 and a .13. She was taken Van Nuys where she was booked and released. Bach tells TMZ, "I am remorseful and mortified. I am going through a really difficult time between David being in the hospital and dealing with the divorce." By the way, the divorce was final in 2007."

Roman Polanski's leg

... not exactly as illustrated. "An official demonstrates the wearing of an electronic monitoring ankle-bracelet today. The Swiss Federal Administrative Court approved the release of Roman Polanski on bail of 4.5 million Swiss francs ($4.49 million) together with supporting measures (deposit of identity papers, house arrest under electronic monitoring), while the film director fights extradition to the United States over a 1977 case of sex with a 13-year-old girl."

The good news for old Roman is that he gets to spend his house arrest in a house with its own frigging rainbow.

Good Morning America doesn't like men who kiss other men but has no problem with men who beat their girlfriends

"ABC has booked Rihanna-beater Chris Brown for an interview and a performance on "Good Morning America" - right after the network canceled guy-kisser Adam Lambert. Brown will do a taped tell-all with Robin Roberts, followed by a performance of songs from his new album. But TV insiders say the appearance, slated to air the week after next, has outraged feminists and gay activists who wonder why a convicted girlfriend abuser is more palatable to the network than an openly gay man who broke no laws with his raunchy performance on the "American Music Awards." An ABC source said, "The network is giving a mixed message - that it doesn't trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault." ABC News has insisted that Lambert's sexual orientation did not play a role in its decision to pull the plug on his "GMA" appearance this week. ABC insiders said they ruled the "American Idol" star's sexed-up shenanigans on Sunday's awards show - which included him groping a female dancer, kissing a male musician and shoving a male dancer's face into his crotch - were inappropriate for morning TV. One said, "He was not canceled over a gay kiss. He showed himself to be unpredictable on live TV." Brown, who taped his interview with Roberts last weekend, was sentenced in August to six months' labor and five years' probation after he pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in February. "GMA" hopes his appearance could provide a ratings boost, just like Rihanna's "GMA" interview earlier this month where she told Diane Sawyer she saw "no soul in his eyes" as he beat her. The top ABC insider added: "Chris Brown's interview was booked way before Adam Lambert took to the stage. It is to give him a chance to respond to Rihanna's interview. The possibility of him performing a song will be worked out next week."

Rachael Ray 'explodes'

Apparently and somewhat disappointingly, not actually in the sense of go boom. But, according to the National Enquirer, she's really miffed with Martha Stewart:

"An incensed Rachael Ray exploded at Martha Stewart, sources say, after the domestic diva ripped her cooking on national TV. The two - who head competing business empires - seemed to have ended their long-running behind-the-scenes feud recently when they appeared on each other's daytime talk shows in mid-November. But sources tell The ENQUIRER their war kicked back into high gear after Martha's catty comments about Rachael, 41, in an interview with Cynthia McFadden on ABC's Nightline on Nov. 19. Martha, 68, pointed out that Rachael has admitted she can't bake and slammed Rachael's latest cookbook as a rehash of old recipes, adding: "And that's not good enough for me." Speaking of Rachael, Martha said: "She's ... more of an entertainer than she is - with a bubbly personality - than she is a teacher, like me." Martha added: "She's a totally different kind of cook than I am. I don't know if she has a garden - I don't think so." Good one, Martha. I personally detest members of the underclass who do not understand the importance of having gardens. Or maids. What's wrong with them, I ask myself, over and over again while the butler walks my dogs. When asked by ABC for a response, Rachael tried to downplay Martha's remarks, saying: "Why would it make me mad? Her skill set is far beyond mine," jokingly adding: "I'd rather eat Martha's (meals) than mine, too." But in private, Rachael WAS furious, a close source told The ENQUIRER. Rachael watched the interview - Martha's first on network TV since she spent five months in federal prison in 2004 and 2005 for lying to investigators about a stock trade - and blew up, the source said. "Rachael was beside herself with rage," said the close source. "She had a meltdown and screamed, 'I HATE YOU!!!!!'" That's a lot of exclamation marks for such a terrible cook. You know the rule: One exclamation mark for every year spent at the Cordon Bleu school. Rachael is really upset that Martha ripped her like that. Rachael believes she's been nothing but kind to Martha and has always respected Martha's 'veteran' standing. "Rachael believes Martha has always been jealous of her success - and thinks that Martha's time has passed while she's on the rise." And there's concrete evidence to back up Rachael's point of view. While revenues for Martha's media and merchandising company fell 25 percent for the third quarter and viewership for The Martha Stewart Show has dropped, Rachael's status as a daytime TV titan continues to strengthen."
