New Hunger Games pictures
I have to agree with various commenters on various sites: The actors - Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth - look too old. I like the clothes and the art direction and everything. But it's supposed to be kids. I believe that's sorta the whole point. Am I wrong?

Yep, they are too old. But it would be harder to market murderous violence and romance between tween characters, I guess.

I don't think they look too old at all--they are supposed to be 16 or 17 not 12. And they've all had hard stressful lives already, it's not like they've been going to summer camp and watching MTV. They've been out hunting, doing hard labour, etc, non?

Katniss's clothes are also WAY too nice and clean. This is the girl who's hairy and poor as s@#$. How convenient her image has been a Zoolander-style "derelict" makeover for the film. Ironic too considering the way the whole "reality tv" concept of distorting reality is skewered in the books.

I agree, they are too old and the movie wont have the same feeling the book does, however I can see general audiences being upset seeing a bunch of kids try to kill each other.
