I trust you saw the trailer for The Hobbit. I was so excited I couldn't eat any Christmas cookies for, like, an hour. And this is super-exciting too. (I was incredibly lucky to get to go on a trip to see some of the New Zealand locations when the last part of the trilogy was released and this makes me want to go back. Except for the 379-hour long flight required to get there).

Sinead O'Connor's marriage over after 18 days ...

People has this: "Eighteen days after her Dec. 8 Las Vegas wedding to boyfriend Barry Herridge, Sinead O'Connor is ending the marriage, the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer announced Monday on her website. "Dear friends," O'Connor 45, writes, "I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts. So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight." She blames pressures placed upon him by "certain people in his life" not to be with her based on press reports about her. "Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink," she writes. "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear." She adds, "A woman wants to be a joy to her husband. So.. U love someone? Set them free." She also says, "He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I'm sorry I'm not a more regular woman. I truly believe though it is painful to admit, we made a mistake rushing into getting married, for altruistic reasons, and weren't aware or prepared for the consequences on my husband's life and the lives of those close to him. He has been terribly unhappy and I have therefore ended the marriage. I think he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap." O'Connor, who has four children from her previous relationships, wed music producer John Reynolds in 1989 and journalist Nicholas Sommerlad in 2001. This past April, she split from longtime friend and collaborator Steve Cooney."

Yes, getting a Drake tattoo in the middle of your forehead is an awesome idea

... Well, I suppose she can always grow bangs and perhaps allow her eyebrows to grow out. That will totally cover it. Problem solved. Or she can buy 15-16 new hats and wear them all at once.

The Root has this: "When rap star Drake rhymed the lines, "Tat my name on you girl so I know it's real," he never thought someone would take it literally - especially on her forehead.  The Toronto rapper is furious after a photo leaked online of an unidentified devoted fan with his name across her forehead. "I want to meet her and understand what happened," Drake told Los Angeles' Power 106. "That's cool, though, I feel you 100 percent, that to me is absolutely incredible." The man who tattoed her, Kevin Campbell, of Los Angeles' "Will Rise" tattoo parlor said he triple-checked with her to make sure it was what she wanted. "I lost a little sleep over it that first night, wondering if I wanted to be known as the a--hole who tattooed 'DRAKE' on some crackhead's forehead," Campbell told Vice.com. "In the end, she paid me to do this to her, which really means she did this to herself." Drake didn't care for the artist's explanation, saying that he deserves to never tattoo another person in his life. “The guy who tatted is a f---ing a–-hole, though, I will tell you that," he said in the radio interview. "And you should lose your job and should never do tattoos again, and I don't f--- with you. And if I ever see you, I'ma f--- you up."

And Vice has this extended insight from the tattoo artist: "The funny thing is, I didn't know who Drake was, I figured it was her hood or some sh*t, not some goofnugget R&B dude. She was really psyched about it. She had the sh*tty font all picked out on her iPhone ready to go and was pretty adamant about putting it on her forehead. She didn't say a word about what it meant to her, some of the guys at the shop asked her, and she just kinda giggled at them. When I printed up the first image of the lettering, she wanted me to go bigger, so that it went pretty much from each side of her hairline to the other. I thought she shaved her eyebrows for the procedure, so when I put the stencil on the first time, it was right over her (missing) eyebrows, but she had me enlarge it a bit and push it up towards the hairline. But yeah, she acted as if she had planned it out for a while; though I'm not really sure how much extended coherent thought could actually go into getting such a stupid tattoo on your forehead." Also, these timeless words of wisdom: "In my opinion this whole world's going to s--t, and s--t rolls downhill, so I might as well just jump in, hold my breath, and pray to God that there's a nice big soft puddle of diarrhea for me to land in once everything hits the fan." NOW, THOSE ARE WORDS THAT WOULD LOOK FANTASTIC AS A TATTOO.

Good thinking "Maria Shriver is telling friends she's now unsure if she wants to divorce Arnold Schwarzenegger ... TMZ has learned. We're told Maria is torn, partly because of her strong religious beliefs that do not include divorce.  Making matters even more complicated - we're told Arnold still desperately wants Maria back, and has been "extremely sweet" to her and has made numerous gestures - which include presents - to win Maria back. Maria filed for divorce on July 1, though she moved out months earlier.  She's already bought a mansion in Brentwood, CA, which she's in the process of renovating."

All is forgiven People: "Adam Lambert and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen appear to be way past the alleged drunken bar fight that got them arrested in Helsinki last Thursday. Right after the mishap, Lambert, 29, said he and his Finnish Big Brother winner beau, 26, were "laughing bout it," and blamed jetlag and vodka for the ordeal. And it seems the family of Lambert's significant other hasn't taken the arrest too seriously either. "Xmas Eve with the Koskinens!" the American Idol runner-up Tweeted on Saturday along with a picture of him and Koshinen decked out in a festive hat. "Just had a huge traditional Finnish feast and now opening gifts! Merry and bright!" Shortly following Thursday's jail release, Koskinen blogged in Finnish: "Love is not always easy, but it's forever."

Tom Cruise wins the box office I saw MI:4 and quite enjoyed it. And not just because of the Batman prelude. A bit too long, perhaps, but fun. I also saw Sherlock Holmes, which I suppose was kinda not very great. Except, I can't judge anything with Robert Downey Jr. in it because I'm so in love with him. Also saw Young Adult, which was pretty great and pretty horribly sad. And, finally saw The Descendants, which I loved. I usually don't appreciate George Clooney because I think he always plays George Clooney, but damn, this was good ... I think I saw something else, too. But I can't remember what. So, it probably sucked. This from Reuters: "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" easily beat its rivals in the race to No. 1 at box offices over the Christmas holiday weekend, returning action star Tom Cruise to winning form after several recent flops. "Ghost Protocol," the fourth movie in Cruise's "Mission: Impossible" series, earned an estimated $46 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters in the four days ending on Monday, according to its distributor Paramount Pictures. Its total estimated ticket sales have reached $78.6 million after debuting in Imax and other large-screen theaters last weekend. Elsewhere, Warner Bros.' "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" took the No. 2 spot with an estimated $31.8 million over the four days, followed by 20th Century Fox family comedy "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" with a $20 million total that barely put it ahead of No. 4, adult thriller "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," at $19.4 million.
