Octomom files for bankruptcy "We all saw it coming - Octomom has filed for bankruptcy ... TMZ has learned. Nadya Suleman filed for Chapter 7 Monday in federal court - a month after going on welfare - meaning she's hopelessly buried in a mountain of debt. Chapter 7 is the most serious form of bankruptcy - it's basically when you go belly up - something Octo is well-familiar with. The legal docs we obtained do not specify her creditors or how much she owes - but it's pretty clear ... she's dead broke."
This sounds pretty great Deadline: "In a competitive situation, True Detective, an eight-part event drama series project starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, has landed at HBO with a straight-to-series order. I hear the pay cable network is finalizing a deal for an eight-episode order to the high-concept cop drama written on spec by Nic Pizzolatto, with Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre) on board to direct all episodes. True Detective, which sparked heated bidding after it was taken out to the top cable networks earlier this month, is descried as an elevated serial narrative with multiple perspectives and time frames. It centers on two detectives, Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 is framed and interlaced with testimony from the detectives in 2012, when the case has been reopened. The concept is for the 8-episode first season to resolve the mystery at hand, with subsequent seasons using same structure but new characters and story. True Detective is gearing up to start production right away."
Splitsville People: "Martin Lawrence filed divorce papers seeking joint custody of his two daughters with wife Shamicka and requesting that their assets be divided under the terms of a prenuptial agreement. The Big Momma's House star cites the usual "irreconcilable differences" in his petition filed April 25 in Los Angeles Superior Court. Lawrence, 47, and Shamicka were married for less than two years but had been together for another 15 years and have daughters ages 9 and 11. The date of separation was listed as April 24, the day before the pair announced their split."
John Legend joins Duets THR: "John Legend has been added to ABC's musical competition series Duets as a replacement for Lionel Richie, who has dropped out of the program. It was announced in early March that Richie would take part in the series, but because of scheduling issues, he will not be participating. As of late, Richie - whose country duets album Tuskegee has been No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the past two weeks - has made appearances on NBC's The Voice as a mentor and had a two-hour CBS concert special, ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends - In Concert, that aired April 13. Legend will join Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke as they search the country for undiscovered musical talent to be featured on the summer show. The mentors ultimately will choose two singers to be their partners, and in the end, one partner will receive a recording contract with Hollywood Records."
Goody "Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom may have pulled the plug on their reality show, but E! wants desperately to stay in business with her, and they're already working on another spin-off ... TMZ has learned. We broke the story ... Khloe and Lamar have notified E! that they will no longer do the 3rd season of their reality show so Lamar can focus on his basketball career. But sources connected with E! tell TMZ ... the network is talking with Khloe about a spin-off show similar to her other show, "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami." E! sources say Khloe is a "huge draw," and as one source put it, "We're definitely in the Khloe Kardashian business."
