Revealed: Rowing eight's secret training video
You come across some pretty interesting things when you're out on the beat covering Canada's Olympic athletes, even some things that they maybe rather you didn't see.
That could well have been the case when we were out covering the Canadian men's rowing eight recently in Victoria and stumbled across their secret training program. Hopefully, the Americans or Germans won't see this:
If you want to see a couple of neat rowing-related videos, check out Canadian rower Kevin Light's entries, one called Balls Away, a humourous look at the rowing team's search for a clothing sponsor and another called Inches about what it takes to win at the elite level. Another budding Spielberg among Olympians is Canadian freestyle aerials ace Steve Omischl, who put together a compelling video really worth watching on his trip to Ghana with fellow athletes Clara Hughes, Emily Brydon and Melissa Hollingsworth for the charitable organization Right to Play.
Anyway, the hope here is that this blog will keep you in the loop on the Road to Beijing and that we can have some fun along the way in introducing you to the athletes who'll represent Canada at the Aug. 8-24 Games, as well as deal with the issues. Stay tuned.

Hey Randy, good luck with the blog. We'll be reading -- don't dog it!
