Who smashed the windows of this car, and why?
There’s a lot of vandalism in the big city, but the beating put on a parked car on Galloway
Rd. was so savage that it’s hard to fathom.
I was driving on Galloway the other day when I spotted a car with a smashed windshield on the east side, just south of Kingston Rd.
I looked in the rear view mirror after I passed it and noticed that the back window also appeared to be broken.
It was curious enough to make me do a U-turn and go back.
I was astounded to find an old Acura with every window smashed in, even the sunroof, with not a shard of glass left except the windshield, which looked like someone did their level best to stomp it out but had to depart before the job was finished.
The interior was filled with broken glass, so much that it was piled on the back seat, along with several bricks that were obviously used to bash in the windows.
A for-sale sign on the front seat is a good indication the owner hoped to sell it, but I had to wonder why anyone would so thoroughly attack the car.
Was it done by someone who has a grudge against the owner, maybe a score to settle over an unpaid debt?
Or was it a random act of violence, directed a car for no reason other than it was there?
And why hasn’t it been towed by now? It’s been there since at least last weekend.
I’d love to know what’s behind it, but I am unlikely to ever find out.
