The shows will be kicked off Wed. Feb. 2 at Castleview Wychwood Towers, on Christie St. in the Dupont-Davenport area, with a 45-minute performance for residents by members of the Canadian Opera Company. They will perform selections of Mozart's The Magic Flute. Simone Osborne and Frederic Antoun will sing, accompanied by COC Music Director Johannes Debus at the piano.
According to a release, this will mark "the debut of the Health Arts Society of Ontario, which has partner organizations in British Columbia and Quebec and aims to expand to all Canadian provinces in 2011. The Health Arts Society is dedicated to providing the enjoyment and stimulation of professionally performed music for the benefit of long-term care residents who are no longer able to attend performances in the community."
