Antropov Likely On the Move Again

It appears that Nik Antropov's stay with the New York Rangers after a March trade from the Leafs could end after 25 regular season and playoff games.

On the weekend, Rangers GM Glen Sather labelled Antropov's contract demands as "ridiculous," with speculation that the big Kazakh is looking for four or five years at upwards of $5 million per season.

"There's a snowball's chance in hell of that happening," Sather told the New York Post.

The Leafs probably wouldn't be interested in bringing back Antropov at all, and certainly not at that price. There's still a possibility, however, that Domenic Moore could get an offer from the Leafs as an unrestricted free agent.

HAHAHAHA

$5,000,000 + for Antropov... The guy is not worth that. I'd pay him no more than $3,000,000. Over 4 million is reserved for 30-40 goal scorers. Not some giant who hits like a 12 year old girl. If he actually used his body, and forechecked, and scored 33 goals a season, then i'd pay him $5 million... But he doesn't so he belongs in the 2.5-3.0 million range (AT BEST)

Yes, Androblob at 5 million shekels--it is to laugh. Maybe he can catch on with Magnitogorsk. Or the Luxembourg Locusts, or . . . the Desert Dogs of Phoenix.

Re Domenic Moore: I still find it amusing that JFJ's single decent move as GM was his final, last-gasp, scattershot pick-up of Moore off the scrap heap. Five second before the overwhelmed fella was axed.

It's ironic that Glen Sather is calling a contract ridiculous. See Gomez, Drury, Redden, et al.

Why is Sather still managing the Rangers?
He's almost as stunned as Bryan Murray!

I think seeing Moore back would be great - Blake seemed to disappear once Moore was traded away.

Antropov was always overrated. He scores the odd goal, but is invisible most of the time. I never understand why the Leafs were always so loathe to trade this stiff? Same with Alex Steen. Another guy who was treated like a future superstar, but I never saw what was so great about him. Same with Karberle. An average defenceman who because he plays in Toronto gets labelled as an elite defenceman? My question is what have they won with this guy? The answer? Nothing. Trade him. He won't be missed. Just like Steen and Antropov haven't been missed.

If Toronto trades Kaberle,he will be missed for sure.He is a great defenceman.People who say that he won't be missed if he is traded don't know anything about hockey players.

Kaberle is average at best you are just so starved for any kind of a quality player that you put him up on a pedestal because there is absolutely no talent on the team ....PS if you play someone half the game they are bound to get points ... ie. Domi , Outside of T.O when people say Kaberle ???? others say .....WHO ???

Kaberle is amazing. He does need to shoot the puck more, but this guy is one of the top 10-15 d-men in the league any given year. I base this statement on stats and watching him play, which both indicate he is sick. Don't know where "average" or "won't be missed" comes from, the guy has outscored the coveted boumeeewhatever consistently, and is crafty on defense as well as offense if you watch him. You don't need to be a big hitter to play solid D.

Unfair assessment of Kabby persists here, he is a good player who needs to shoot more. With puck-moving defencemen a rarity, why would anybody sign Boumeester at inflated $$ when Kabby is available for less?
I like the offer sheet for Kessel, but not at inflated $$$!

Dear Kabby. You have been a great Leaf and will be sad to see you go. Do you remember when we used to boo you for the first few years for all the cough up goals and bad defensive coverage? Sure! And how popular you were when you and Brian Mcabe were the top 7 scoring defensive pair in the league? Yep! All the best my friend your services were appreciated by some of us.
