I'm sure those of you who check this blog regularly (all three of you) have noticed that this is my first post in a week.
Don't think I'm neglecting the blog or its readers, because I'm not. Earlier this spring I decided that as long as I'm working I'm updating this page three times a week.
I just haven't been at work.
Last week I had to drive to Chicago to take care of some family matters. I plan to be back in Toronto tonight, back at work Tuesday and back on the blog as soon as I observe/unearth something blogworthy.
Then regular updates will resume.
Until then, hold tight.

Can you blog about stories being published in major daily newspapers claiming that because Beckham is in the England squad for a friendly with the USA on May 28 that he'll miss the TFC game on May 31 without attribution?? Timing allows for him and Landy to fly from London to Toronto in plenty of time for the game!!
If the Star and the Globe are going to publish this story, at least use the words "could miss" instead of stating as fact something (the miss) for which there is no attribution.

Becks is missing the game for sure it was confirmed by Paul Beirne on one of the supporters website.

Hey Morgan. Looking forward to the thrice weekly blogging again; good stuff. Here's hoping you're working on a blog or story about TFC's depth (or lack thereof) with only 24 players in a league of squads that generally cary 27-29. What was the point in dropping Hemming & Boyens (unless they were no better than Gala & Phelan maybe)? What happens when 2 or 3 guys go down with injuries and another 2-3 get called up for international play? Suddenly we look more like last year's team. Looking forward to the insight ...

Beckham's not coming, I suppose you didn't see that England also plays June 1st, making the May 31st TFC game pretty much improbable if not impossible
Boyens got cut due to international limitations on the roster. That's been well established for a while now.
Rumor was that when Hemming was released that he asked for his release, as he was making under $18,000 a year. I believe that it was confirmed in the NYRB Reserve match from someone that was there that Hemming asked for his release in hopes of catching on elsewhere.
