Opus Hotel Vancouver...Great Seafood dinner...Jim's Deal of the Day
Stayed the night last night (still seems like last night, truth be told) at the Opus in Vancouver. Very cool lobby with tres modern furniture in the lobby and hugely helpful staff.
Great room with deep blue/indigo walls and a small sofa in deep red/purple with colourful cushions and a great bathroom with a window out into the bedroom. Of course, you can close the curtains and keep your privacy if that's what you want....
The lobby bar was filled with sleek looking Vancouverites on a Tuesday night but didn't get a chance to sample anything.
Bluewater Cafe was full so we strolled down Mainland to Gold Fish. Absolutely wonderful arctic char with a wonderful coconut/kaffir lime sauce and a smashing sample of sablefish prepared three ways. And a bottle of Gehringer Brothers Pinot Gris from the Okanagan.
A great spot for future reference, right in the heart of Yaletown. As is the Opus.
Gotta try to get here during the Olympics, although I suspect it'll be packed to the proverbial rafters.
