Day One done in a blink

Yes, you can do a day of conventioneering in five minutes.

Day One in Tampa went a little this way: RNC Chair Reince Priebus brought down the gavel at 2 p.m. Then Reince Priebus announced the convention in recess by 2.01 p.m.

Then, we got an advertisement for the GOP debt clock in the arena, a tribute to the first responders at the ready should Isaac hit the Gulf Coast, then a prayer for those who could  be hit, a quick tribute to the late Neil Armstrong and a political ad on the message board for presumptive nominee Mitt Romney.

Then the convention floor became a cocktail party without the cocktails and that was it for Day One, the day originally billed as We Can Do Better.
