Barack Obama to Clint Eastwood: 'This seat's taken'

President Barack Obama tweeted this picture after Clint Eastwood's conversation with an empty chair at the Republican National Convention Thursday night:

What was all that clap-trap about Obama's "malignant narcissism"? Guess they were right! Clint > Obama

It might be taken but we are still waiting for something effective to happen from it.... Eastwood is right, when you can't do the job... you need to replace them.

AT LEAST, Clint didn't have a speech-writer write his speech. It came right from the heart of AMERICA!

This proves Eastwood's point. Obama believes that he is (and acts) above and beyond criticism. No wonder he hasn't been able to get a budget approved in almost 4 years!

What does Hollywood have to do with politics?! Just because they play smart characters and hero's doesn't mean they are in real life!!

I used to think better of Clint Eastwood but now I think he's a nasty over the hill guy who spews silly nonsense that is degrading to the entire U.S. political system. How LOW can he go? I think even less of Mitt Romney for letting a nit wit go on & on like Eastwood did. And the proper respectful way to address our president is PRESIDENT OBAMA, not Mr. Obama. How disgusting to make a joke out of the American political system! I hate to think how this sounded to the rest of the world. Indecent, disrespectful, and confusing at best. I would be ashamed to have been a part of any convention that stooped so far down into the gutter.

Eastwood didn't have a point. He's now officially a loon. Budget approval was routinely blocked by the Republicans, who publicly and on the national news vowed to oppose Obama's administration at every turn in order to defeat him at election time. That has been their openly stated modus operandi since January 1, 2008. And here's some news: unlike virtually every other president before him, Obama writes his own speeches.

It appears all whom comment on here speak the same negative mess! And also believe that the presidents actually run the U.S. I say give him four more years! @ U.S.A. Patriot (and everyone else) - after what Bush did to the US economy in his 8 year double term and the US hit with one of biggest recessions since the great one NO ONE coming into office would of gotten a budget approved in the same time. The people who actually run the country have you just where they want you. Living in fear and confusion unaware of the puppet masters strings! Dance puppets, dance! As for Mr Eastwood, he made my day because I needed a laugh!

Clint's an actor folks..that doesn't mean he's intelligent. He gave no definitive reason to vote for Romney.

ps; isn't Romney a lawyer too

Obama is the president that America should be prode of .
The erea of all the tricks, has gone and politic is not secret from anybody..
Obama is capable, resosible, and realiable. he is not silly, and stupid at all. like other intertainers
My vote goes to him, and do not care for dum speaches to the mob that other politicians launch. People of America should understand that comadians on the stage ruin thier nations....
God Bless Obama and leaders like him. ....

Sorry Clint, but you are wrong. You want a man to be elected, who says "His Business Experience" will "Right" America! Ha! His company, Bain, was devoted to buying up and unloading the assets of companies, selling the process and business file, and put THOUSANDS out of work, for the sake of "Huge" Profits. Don't forget that poor "Anne" drives two Cadillacs. What a HYPOCRITE. Do any of you remember what happened to Mervyns Department Stores.? That's the type "Business Experience" Mitt brings to the table.A name for it is HYPOCRISY.

so, people actually are willing to take seriously a man talking to his imaginary friend? If there's anything lower than the Republicans it's people who believe them. Romney has already taken the odd step of distancing what he says from the truth. ANything he says, by his own words, is said because of the possibility it will get him elected. Truth has nothing to do with it. The ultimate in political degradation and moral corruption. Clint Eastwood talks to an empty chair, and it's Obama that has the problem? What's wrong with you people. And if Obama answers in person, he's narcissistic... I swear the whole right wing has totally lost touch with reality.

Obama had opportunities to pass a budget many times... the house and senate were his for the first two years.... he is simply too busy worrying about leaving his health care legacy than anything else.... and jobs? What are they for ... he's got welfare and food stamps for everyone... he'll just keep upping the debt - are you people insane? This man got to be president with absolutely NO experience running anything. Being a nice man does not a leader make.

This is hilarious. In what way does Obama's response suggest he can't be criticized? And now it's Obama's fault that the GOP has since Day 1 attempted to de-legitimize his Presidency (birther, Muslim, "You lie!", etc)? If there's a budget impasse it's because the House refused to ever acknowledge he even has the right to be President. Finally, can anyone imagine how the GOP, Fox and Sarah "Duh" Palin would have reacted if the Dems were to have an actor come out and tell a sitting president to "shut up" as Clint did last night? Double standard much? It's a funny, imaginary world you cons live in. Sort of like the imaginary world that suggests that the GOP is going to win the presidency this year.

Perfect response response Mr. President!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clint should be the one running for president!

If elected the only thing that Mitt intends to do is to reward his cronies and ensure the status quo for Wall Street and his corporate friends. He will continue to make sure that they live a cushy stress free, low tax existence on the backs of the majority of the American public who actually pay more taxes than this miscreant. WHERE IS MITT'S TAX RETURN? a closed file...quietly put to bed.
He comes from a wealthy political family with a privileged private school education. Please tell me what does he know about working class (poor) Americans? Fully 1/3 of Americans now live in poverty, the middle class is gone as his ILK exported those jobs long ago. What exactly is he going to do to create those millions of jobs that he promises. Legislate them?
Maybe he'll ask the Chinese to give them back?
Those who vote for him should be ashamed that they can't see the obvious. Let us not forget that it was the obstructionist Republicans that almost collapsed the American economy, proud that they could wield such power at the expense of the American people. He is a political opportunist bent on ensuring that all power and obscene profits stay in the hands of Wall St and corporate America. This is just a game that he can afford to play.
I have lived almost 6 decades and have seen it all. Not much changes because the system of government is disfunctional and corrupt. This was how it was and still is.

Mitt Romney in the White House spells the end of America as we know it.

Can't believe the President and his advisors bought into the old Nixon trick of baiting the opponent. They now are debating with an actor. Should of ignored it, let the media respond to it.

they are desperate to use an aging actor and a former politician... reminds you of somebody? Mr. Reagan... he was a disaster

You should have told Romney to make your day and publish his tax returns like verybody else who runs for President as it is this guy should be up on felony fraud charges.
RR

What everyone forgets is the unholy mess Obama inherited from Bush...Clinton gave him a clean house and he buggered it up.

Clinton was probably hired by Barack.

I would like to introduce you to Harvey. Harvey is a rabbit. Harvey is a giant rabbit. Harvey is a giant invisible rabbit. Harvey is a giant invisible rabbit wearing a top hat.

We're in trouble if you do see him.

Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?

Obama had a Democratic House and Senate the first two years and he still failed to pass a budget. Obama has spent us into record debt and if re-electied he will continue to spend us into a bankrupt society!
Obama has not been transparent as he promised. Obama has raised taxes on all of us, although he promised not to. Obama has given millions of taxpayers dollars thru stimulus and grants to those people who have supported him, some of which have lost the money and returned no long term jobs! Obama's fantasy plan for America is destroying our country!

Obama maybe a nice guy, family man, likable, but not a leader when it comes to getting us out of this financial crisis.

Romney and Ryan can and will bring us out of this financial crisis! They will give us the straight talk and a real plan for bringing our country back to greatness. This is not about Republicans and Democrats! This is about saving our country from debt so that our children and grand children wont have this debt hanging over their head!
