Voting time, bragging time

During the convention's roll call, a representative of each state's delegation takes the stage to cast the delegation's votes - and, often, to brag about the state. Here are some of the most entertaining boasts uttered during the roll call that formally nominated Romney on Tuesday:

Guam: "We're fourteen time zones ahead of the east coast! We're so far west that we're in the far east! Where America's day begins!"

Idaho: "From the 43rd star on the American flag! The first to sue on Obamacare! The..."

Iowa: "The land that feeds millions of fellow Americans with our corn, beans, hogs, and cattle!"

Kentucky: "The horse capital of the world."

Maryland: "...the finest blue crabs on the face of the earth..."

Oklahoma: "Barack Obama lost every single county in our state!"

Oregon:  "Oregon is going to be the next red state on the left coast! I never thought I'd say this, but we're going to be the New Jersey of the west!"

Tennessee: "The Volunteer state! A state with no income tax!"

Utah: "...hosted the greatest Olympics in history, because of the greatest snow on earth and the impeccable, proven leadership of Mitt Romney..."
