Barack Obama made of sand, meet anti-abortion protesters

Republicans enjoy mocking Barack Obama for the Greek columns that served as a backdrop for his 2008 convention speech. Some of them have also mocked him over this:

Not his fault, though. The Myrtle Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau commissioned the 16-tonne sand sculpture for the Democratic convention in Charlotte this week.

"The sculpture, made completely of South Carolina sand, took five sculptors of Sarasota, Fla.-based 'Team Sandtastic' three days to complete," the Myrtle Beach people inform us.

On Tuesday, anti-abortion activists holding signs with typically gruesome photos stood in front of Imperious-Looking Sandy Obama and yelled stuff. Some passers-by were displeased by this (warning, gruesome photos):
