Environment Canada ends severe thunderstorm warnings in southern Ontario

Environment Canada has ended severe thunderstorm warnings that covered much of southern Ontario on Monday night.

The warning came after several thunderstorms crossing the province produced localized wind gusts of up to 100 km/h.

Hail was also expected in some areas.

The warnings stretched from Windsor and Sarnia, through Huron-Perth, Waterloo-Wellington, Halton, Peel, Toronto, York and Durham regions.

They also include London-Middlesex, Elgin, Niagara Oxford-Brant, Peterborough, Barrie and Orillia.
