Prince William and his motorcycles

WilliamTriumph
William and Kate may have left the Abbey in a carriage, but it won't be long before Wills gets back onto his beloved two wheels.

Both Princes William and Harry ride motorcycles as their favoured transport, partly because they can wear full-face helmets with tinted visors and travel incognito on British roads, albeit with security escorts riding close by.

Harry In 2008, the two princes took part in a charity motorcycle rally across South Africa. The same year, Harry was spotted trying to resusciate this abandoned motorbike in Afghanistan.

William has been riding since he was 8 years old, learning on the many lengthy roads of the royal estates. He's owned plenty of bikes from plenty of makers, including a Yamaha XT600 dual-purpose and a Honda CBR 1100 Blackbird. He favours high-powered machines, like the Triumph Daytona sportbike he's riding in the photo at the top of this post.

Ducati  More recently, as seen in this 2009 photo, he rode to a charity polo match on his Ducati 1198S, but last year he swapped it for the more powerful Ducati 1198SP, which can top 300 km/h and hit 100 km/h in around three seconds.

Even the Audi S4 that he drives can't come close to that kind of performance.
