War in the heart of Syria's capital
This is a photo of the aftermath of a bomb blast in Damascus today posted on Facebook by a resident who lives there and says he hid in the basement of a neighbour's house.
Dozens of people have been killed and more than 200 injured. The car bomb exploded near the headquarters of President Bashar Assad's party in the upmarket area of Maazra.
This area of Damascus has been so far relatively insulated from the war.
