Hyperloop revealed: Elon Musk's hypothetical high-speed transit

Elon Musk revealed his plans for Hyperloop on Monday as promised. The hypothetical ultra-high speed transport system is a series of tubes, after all.

Hyperloop would be solar-powered, elevated, and would transport passengers and even cars from San Francisco to Los Angeles in aluminum pods travelling through steel tubes at speeds of up to 1,300 kilometres an hour. 

The best way to get more details on Hyperloop is to listen to Musk himself explain it over at this blog on the Tesla Motors website. But suffice to say Hyperloop lived up to its hype:
