I dream of knife blocks
After much research and hemming and hawing, I've finally settled on — and purchased — the perfect knife block to house the sets that I received as wedding presents. (Yes, that was six months ago, but still, I feel like it's an accomplishment!)
While I seriously considered the Voodoo Knife Block by Raffaele Iannello — it's quirky and a wee bit twisted — I ended up picking up this bamboo beauty from Crate and Barrel (on sale! Wouldn't have got that price six months ago!) which also features a great detachable section for steak knives.
And, in an added boost of productivity, the knives were all carefully arranged in my new knife block within an hour of returning home with my purchase.
That's one New Year's resolution (or to-do list item) complete! Stay tuned for an update on my other project later this week!

wow! i've got to get me one of these. i mean, i too would love the dude knife block where you stab the knives into his body, but it comes with knives and i already own a set.
i'm so surprised that something from crate and barrel is both nice and actually on sale. every time i go in there i instantly regret it as everything that i thought would be cheap isn't, anything i don't want is marked down, and seemingly i pick the times to go when every other person in the gta has the same idea. i should just go to a movie instead, or a different store i guess...
either way, nice find.
