Look, it's growing!

Regular readers know that I'm no gardener. But, inspired by our newest series, My Ugly Garden, where Liz McDonnell is trying to create a pretty and functional space, I thought I'd give my green thumb another try — albeit on a very small scale.

I recently received this cute little Eggling planter along with a press kit (I think it was from Benjamin Moore's new paint line ...) and figured, why not? So, armed with a spoon, I cracked the top, planted the seeds and attempted to water regularly.

And, guess what? It worked!

That's basil growing merrily on my bathroom windowsill — one of the few places I figured would be safe, but still sunny, during our moving preparations!
