Council of Canadians forum to be at Massey Hall

The Council of Canadian’s Shout Out for Global Justice public forum has found a new home at Massey Hall.

The June 25 event, initially booked at the Convocation Hall, had to scramble for a new venue after the University of Toronto announced it was shutting down for the summit because of safety concerns.

The Council turned to Massey Hall next, but was told the venue would have to okay the decision with police.

The event will feature a variety of activists, labour leaders and policy experts, including Council of Canadians chair Maude Barlow, Bolivian ambassador Pablo Solon and writer Naomi Klein.

Cheekily, the Council boasts that the event will cost less than $1 billion.
