Opening day for the Photographer.

Steve Russell - Staff Photographer

Sunday's Blue Jay game was another opening day, for me!

I was my first game of the season and it showed. I thonk by the end of the game I was surrounded by a pile of rust.

Man, Ricky Romero can pitch!

Ricky Romero gave up one run over eight innings but the Toronto Blue Jays still lose 3-1 to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Ricky Romero leaves the field after getting out of a jam in the fifth inning.

Vernon Wells makes contact, he fouls a ball off as the Toronto Blue Jays lose 3-1.

My first game ever at the Roger Centre was in 1989, the Jays clinched the division in front of a full house, it is a little sad to see fans have their choice of the 36,000 plus empty seats!

Jose Bautista tosses his bat after striking out.

Shortstop Alex Gonzalez tosses the ball back in the infield after almost making a play, the runner scored on a Hideki Matsui double later in the inning.

Pinch runner Mike Napoli is congratulated by teammates after scoring the winning run in the top of the ninth.

Catcher John Buck tags out his counterpart Jeff Mathis in the top of the ninth.

Ervin Santana pitched a complete one-run-game for his first win of the season.

Adam Lind grimaces in pain after fouling the ball off his knee. Lind would homer later in the at-bat.
