After 31 years Toronto Star Photographer Tony Bock leaves the Star.

June 23, 2005 - David Newhan is out in a collision with catcher Greg Zahn, on Brian Roberts double. 

February 10, 2006 Climbers form a dove representing the peace symbol at Opening Ceremonies for the Torino 2006 XX Winter Olympics hosted by Turin, Italy. 

February 17, 2006 - Ladies' Snowboard Cross. USA's Lindsey Jacobellis had a big lead, but fell on the second last jump, winning silver, Tanja Frieden won an unexpected gold. 

February 20, 2006 - Canada defeats Sweden in the gold medal final. The team listens to Oh Canada as the flag is raised. 

February 22, 2006 - Womens 1500m, A rose lies on the track after Cindy Klassen wins her fourth medal.  

February 22, 2006  - Ladies figure skating, free program. Japan's Shizuka Arakawa skates to a gold medal. 

May 07, 2007 - The Jays beat Angels 3-0 and Rookie starter Casey Janssen get a faceful of shaving cream from Vernon Wells during the post game TV interview. 

April 06, 2008 - Jays beat RedSox, 7-4. John Macdonald and Vernon Wells collide going for a Kevin Youkilis triple, Alex Rios winces watching them, though both continued in the game. 

May 15, 2007 - Aaron Hill can't get to this ground ball single off the bat of Aubrey Huff in the 7th inning.

Nov 11, 2007 - Jack Newman, 87, who was a Sergeant in the Canadian Army reflects at the Remembrance Day service at Prospect Cemetery, held by members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Earlscourt Branch 65.  His medals include those given by the people of Holland for his part in liberating Arnham.  

July 26, 2008 - A windsurfer enjoys a string wind as he passes in front of the setting sun Saturday evening on Lake Huron. 


August 16, 2008 - The cleanup continues following the explosion at Sunrise Propane last week. Workers from RBG Environmental comb the playground of Ancaster Road Public School on their hands and knees, looking for small pieces of asbestos spread by the explosion. RBG has been contracted by the city and the Board of Ed to clean the school. 

August 29, 2008 - Mariatu Kamara was 12-years-old when she had her hands cut off by rebels in Sierra Leone.

Nov 17, 2008 - Sunset over Toronto Harbour.    

 Feb 17, 2009 - Joe Gomes, bartender at the Park Hyatt Roof Lounge, pours his pomegranite based cocktail.

June 10, 2009 - Mike Arnold, co-owner the new Black Creek Historic Brewery.  

June 16, 2009 - Gwen Stefani leads No Doubt  at the Air Canada Centre. 

July 30, 2009 -  A packed Lamport stadium watched contestants in Caribana's King and Queen of the Bands competition.  Several dozen entrants paraded their elaborate hand made costumes.  Joella Crichton, dances as the sun in her portrayal called 'The Source', from the band In Full Bloom, in the Queen of the Band competition. 

October 8, 2009 - Body Worlds and the Story of the Heart opens tomorrow at the Ontario Science Centre.  Dr. Angelina Whalley, the exhibition designer examines Limber Gymnast with Organs. 

November 11, 2009 - On a windswept hill, overlooking Lake Ontario on Oshawa, past and present intelligence officers paid tribute to these who had preceeded them.  The Remembrance Day service was held on the site of Camp X, a camp used to train spys during WW2 for Britain, USA and Canada.  The Red and Green flag is Military Intelligence flag. 

December 6, 2009 - Christian Hanson skates in the speed skating competition at the Leafs Skills Competition at the ACC.

March 19, 2010  -  Mohamed Aden, father of Abas Abukar (small photo), who was killed in Edmonton on Halloween day in 2008. He is one of the 29 young Somali-Canadians who have died in the past 4 years. 

April 12, 2010  -  Alex Gonzales is hit by a pitch to load the bases in the 6th inning.  

April 20, 2010  - Left fielder Mitch Maier loses his glove chasing a long foul by Adam Lind.  Lind struck out.

May 5, 2010 - Members of the Hiroshima Day Coalition shelter as the rain starts to fall after they met with Mayor David Miller at the Peace Garden.   The fifty A-bomb survivors and peace activists were meeting in the council chamber before travelling to the UN.  The woman in black is Setsuko Thurlow, Member of the Order of Canada, a survivor of the atomic bomb.

July 15, 2004  -  Peterborough was flooded by a severe rainstorm in 2004.  Residents of Philip Street have been flooded for the second time in two years.  Frank Bell saves some memorabilia, all that is left in his flooded basement.  Relentless rains left the city awash in water and sewage. 

Mark Tewksbury celebrates his Gold Medal swim in the 100 metre backstroke at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.

Blue Jay Tom Quinian went all out for this foul pop last night at the Skydome, but wound up with his face in the front row. Star photographer Tony Bock offered to lend a hand. A fan caught the ball.
