CARLOS OSORIO - Carmen Galea outside of her apartment. Carmen Galea was a teacher for gifted kids before she got Parkinson's. She had to quit her job. She started tutoring kids in her condominium for free -- most came from nearby apartment buildings. The condo board kicked them out of the party room -- so many came. So she's converted her condo into a nightly tutoring session. Some nights there are 20. Last year, they came in second in the the Destination Imagination finals in Canada and went to the World Championships as a team. This year, they are going again. For their challenge, they had to pick one problem in the community and come up with a solution. What did they pick? Parkinson's.

LUCAS OLENIUK - Emily Yeskoo and her mother Lindsey photographed in their North York home.  The teen was diagnosed with a terminal disease 5 years ago but is remarkably still alive.  Emily is the namesake of Toronto's first pediatric hospice, Emily's House, which will open its doors at the end of the month.

VINCE TALOTTA - Martin Katz, a scooter rider is upset he's been ticketed for parking on a sidewalk outside his office. He's been parking there for four years and this is his first ticket. The bylaw's always been on the books (no motorized vehicles can park on boulevards and sidewalks) but never enforced. Police put out a news release Monday saying the ticketing blitz would begin, but Katz says no media picked it up and doesn't think a day is fair warning .
