Poor Harry ... Prince draws tough Olympic assignment of watching beach volleyball

As royal ambassadors for Team Great Britain at the London Olympics, it was only fitting that Prince William, his wife Kate and Prince Harry plan to attend as many events as possible.

BeachHigh level meetings ensued. Debates probably raged. The burning question, of course, was who would have the horrible task of appearing at beach volleyball.

Not surprisingly, Harry got the assignment. Tough work, but somebody had to do it.

The women's beach volleyball final -- where Harry might be re-acquainted with the Brazilian team he visited earlier this year -- is one of about 30 events the young royals will be attending.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been granted her favourites as well. Hockey, tennis and sailing are all on her docket. Prince William, as president of the UK's Football Association, will be at Wembley for soccer. Harry will also be on hand for the men's 100-metre final on Aug. 5, where he'll very likely see Usain Bolt, who he engaged in a mock race several months back in Jamaica.

All the young royals will be spending time at equestrian, where cousin Zara Phillips will be competing for Team GB.

Prince William will be out of Olympic action for the second week of the Games because of his work commitments with the RAF search and rescue team in Wales.

Here's a schedule of events that some members of the Royal Family will be attending:
