I went to my family doctor recently, with a history of depression and anxiety, and told him that I really needed to start seeing a psychiatrist again. Perhaps go on medication again and psychotherapy. He told me there were no psychiatrists who were taking patients, and then tried to refer me to doctor trained as a pediatrician, who also is not seeing patients. So now I pretty much have nowhere to go, at least until I get so bad that I have to be hospitalized? Hopefully that doesn't happen, but I was shocked at the lack of psychiatric care in the GTA. </p>
